Cousins will throw an interception

Suggesting a quarterback will throw an interception isn’t a bold prediction, but interceptions have been rare for Cousins. The Vikings quarterback comes into Sunday’s game with two interceptions and the lowest interception rate among all starting quarterbacks this season.

But Zimmer’s directive to throw the ball downfield could put a dent into those stats. Cousins had multiple aggressive throws during a win over the Packers, and had Darnell Savage hauled one of them in, the result might be a much different game.

Cousins was aware of this after the game, suggesting that he was being too aggressive with the ball, but with Zimmer embracing the pass, he’s more likely to let it fly. This could mean more mistakes and a golden opportunity for the 49ers.
