A very costly loss

This was a huge opportunity for the Minnesota Vikings to make a statement by beating a team with a good record on the road to make it three consecutive victories. Sadly, that wasn’t to be and the purple and gold fell apart in the second half.

Attempting to keep close the gap on the NFC North leaders would have been good considering Minnesota beat Green Bay the previous week, but there was something more important in this game than one game’s outcome toward a possible playoff berth.

The biggest concern at the moment is the health of Dalvin Cook. The star running back needed to be carted off the field during this game and his status going forward. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported on Twitter that it is a separated shoulder and he will have an MRI on Monday.

But he wasn’t the only one to leave the game with an injury. Rookie left tackle Christian Darrisaw left the field under his own power and was replaced by Rashod Hill for the remainder of the game. No update was given on his status following the contest.
