Looking back, who are some of the players the Minnesota Vikings would have liked to use their top pick on in the 2021 NFL Draft instead of offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw?

During the last few years, the first round of the NFL Draft typically hasn’t been very kind to the Minnesota Vikings.

Yes, the first round is where the Vikings used a selection on their young superstar wide receiver, Justin Jefferson. However, Minnesota has also made plenty of selections in the first round during the last few years that they would probably like to forget about, including Mike Hughes, Garrett Bradbury, and Laquon Treadwell.

During the most recent NFL Draft, the Vikings wound up landing former Virginia Tech left tackle Christian Darrisaw with their first-round pick. Darrisaw has been a nice improvement on the left side of Minnesota’s offensive line, but he’s had plenty of moments this season that have reminded everyone he is still a rookie.

If the Vikings had the opportunity, who are some of the players they might have decided to select with their 2021 first-round pick based on how everything has turned out around the NFL so far this season?

And let’s also base these new selections on Minnesota’s original first-round slot at pick No. 14 before they made a trade with the New York Jets.
