4 reasons why Mike Zimmer is close to being done in Minnesota

Minnesota struggles against top competition
In the NFL, if a team wants to consistently remain among the best each and every season, then they have to come out with wins against the other top squads around the league. More often than not, the Vikings haven’t been able to do this with Mike Zimmer as their head coach.
Since Zimmer arrived in 2014, Minnesota is 16-39 during regular-season games against teams that finish with a winning record. That amounts to a winning percentage of 29.1, which ranks 20th in the NFL since 2014.
Teams like the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, and Seattle Seahawks have all come away with victories in at least 40 percent of their matchups against teams with winning records since 2014.
This makes plenty of sense as these are the teams that have been some of the most successful franchises around the NFL during Zimmer’s tenure with the Vikings.
It’s difficult to get to the top of the league without beating the best teams, and this is something that Minnesota’s head coach has been unable to do during his time with the organization.
