4 most disappointing Vikings in the Week 13 loss to the Lions
By Nik Edlund
Cameron Dantzler – CB
The Vikings’ corners weren’t very good against the Lions and Cameron Dantzler‘s play was every bit as rotten as Bashaud Breeland’s. Dantzler continues to give huge cushions to his receivers, pretty much giving them a free reception when they look his way.
Dantzler did have some good moments in the game, like when he had that interception that probably should’ve turned the game the Vikings way for good but unfortunately the offense couldn’t cash in.
Dantzler’s biggest sin in this game came on that final drive and actually the final play. For whatever reason, Dantzler once again gave St. Brown a huge cushion, but this time he did it in the end zone.
He wasn’t guarding the goal line like any high school football player knows to do in that situation, he instead allowed St. Brown an easy game-winning touchdown reception. Why he played so far off is a complete and utter mystery. The fact it came after a time out is even more concerning.
Dantzler has had some good moments in his young career so far, but this season he’s really taken a step backward. His decision to play soft when the game was on the line, makes no sense and speaks to him having an incredibly low football IQ, or getting some poor direction from his coaches.
