Kris Boyd – CB

Bashaud Breeland has made the disappointing list numerous times this season, and very well could have with his performance against the Steelers. As bad as he was, there was a cornerback who was even worse and that was Kris Boyd.

Boyd got on the field in the second half while the Vikings still had a very large lead. Apparently, Breeland became ill and Boyd was the next man up. After watching his play for a few snaps, Breeland wasn’t the only one who was sick.

Pittsburgh immediately threw at Boyd and he actually made a nice tackle behind the line of scrimmage. But instead of just walking back to the defensive huddle, he thought it would be a good idea to stand over the Steelers receiver he just got the better of and give him a mouthful.

Boyd was immediately flagged for taunting and that play really turned the tide of the game. Pittsburgh got a free 15 yards and then they began picking on Boyd. He gave up completion after completion and he also couldn’t seem to tackle anyone that came his way. He was so bad he actually made Minnesota fans wish Breeland was back in the lineup.

Boyd has had some solid moments in his young career, but his game against the Steelers definitely wasn’t one of them. Hopefully, watching the film of his boneheaded penalty and his shoddy coverage will inspire him to never repeat those mistakes again.
