Rashod Hill, offensive line
The Minnesota Vikings used their first selection in the 2021 NFL Draft on left tackle Christian Darrisaw. When he wasn’t ready to suit up for action, the team made the call to plug Rashod Hill as the starter in his place.
Hill played fairly well for a backup at one of the most important positions in football. He held down that spot for a while, even rotating in with Darrisaw until the team was ready for their rookie blocker to take on the job in a full-time role.
When Darrisaw went down with an ankle injury, the first thought would be that Hill would return to the lineup in his place. However, that wasn’t the case and the Vikings moved right guard Oli Udoh to left tackle instead.
Udoh has been getting beat much more often than Hill was and has been called for at least one penalty in each of his starts at left tackle. Unless there is something wrong with Rashod Hill at the moment, there is no reason he shouldn’t be named the starter until Darrisaw can return.
