Tyler Conklin – TE

It’s easy to get overshadowed when playing on an offense that includes Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen, Kirk Cousins, and Justin Jefferson, but Tyler Conklin is a guy who is definitely a little underappreciated. No one doubts his talent or ability, and his 49 receptions for 489 yards and three scores is definitely impressive, but his solid year isn’t getting talked about that much.

Conklin isn’t just putting up impressive numbers, but what makes him truly an unsung hero is when he’s making these grabs. Many of Conklin’s receptions are for key first downs that keep Vikings’ drives going.

He also tends to make a big grab when the team needs a drive starter and also has become a target in the red zone for Cousins. If Justin Jefferson wasn’t on such a crazy tear, maybe a little more noise would be made about the solid season Conklin is putting together.

When it is all done, Conklin will likely have over 60 receptions on the season. He is entering a contract year, and it’s very likely a team will offer him more money than the Vikings will be able to match or be willing to invest in the tight-end position. So appreciate this guy while we can because he could be donning different colors in 2022.
