Following the decision to part ways with Bashaud Breeland on Saturday, who are a few cornerbacks the Minnesota Vikings could sign to fill his open roster spot?

Letting go of a starting cornerback with only four games left on their schedule probably isn’t something the Minnesota Vikings were planning on doing this season. But that’s what happened on Saturday when the Vikings decided to waive corner Bashaud Breeland.

Breeland reportedly got into physical and verbal altercations during Minnesota’s practice on Saturday with coaches, players, and even general manager Rick Spielman. Things eventually cooled down, but the Vikings ultimately decided it would be best for them to just show the veteran cornerback the door.

So now, Minnesota has to figure out who is going to take over Breeland’s role in the defense. Breeland had started all 13 of the Vikings’ games this season and he was on the field for 74 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.

Since it’s so late in the year, chances aren’t very high that Minnesota will be able to find someone in free agency, or from another team’s practice squad, who can come in and make an immediate impact.

The Vikings’ best bet is to probably just bring in another corner who either has experience in their defensive scheme or has been in the NFL for a handful of years. So who are some of the available cornerbacks that Minnesota could potentially sign to help them make up for the departure of Breeland?
