Dre Kirkpatrick (Free Agent)

Dre Kirkpatrick is one of the few veteran free agents that actually has experienced playing in a defense run by current Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer.

Kirkpatrick was selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, and during the first two seasons of his career, Zimmer was his defensive coordinator.

He’s now 32-years-old and he’s been around the league a bit during the last few years. Earlier this season, he spent some time on the field for the San Francisco 49ers, and last year, he started 11 games for the Arizona Cardinals.

At 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Kirkpatrick has the ideal size for an outside corner, and he’s also familiar with Zimmer’s defensive scheme. He’s probably one of the few free-agent cornerbacks that could come in at this point in the year and actually make an impact for Minnesota.
