Isaiah Johnson (Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad)

Isaiah Johnson is someone the Vikings could consider picking up to not only add cornerback depth for the rest of this season, but he could be someone to keep around and develop as well.

A fourth-round pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2019 NFL Draft, Johnson’s time in the league hasn’t gone as he probably would’ve liked. The 26-year-old corner appeared in 19 games with the Raiders in 2019 and 2020, but the team released him before the start of the 2021 campaign.

Since his departure from Las Vegas, Johnson spent time on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad, and earlier this month, he was added to the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad.

Measuring in at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds to combine with 4.4 speed, he has great traits to develop into a solid corner in the NFL. Perhaps the Vikings could help him reach the high potential that some felt he was capable of prior to the 2019 draft.
