Cousins will quiet down the primetime narrative

Vikings fans may have cringed when they saw this game on the schedule as it’s another chance to see Kirk Cousins in primetime. “Prime Time Kirk” has terrorized fans throughout his career as he’s posted a 1-9 record on Monday Night Football. He also hasn’t won back-to-back primetime games during his career, which will add to the nerves of Vikings fans.

But Monday’s game should be a great opportunity to buck that trend.

The Bears have been burnable in the passing game as they are tied for fourth with 24 passing touchdowns allowed and seventh with 7.8 yards allowed per attempt this season. To add to their woes in the secondary, safety Eddie Goldman and cornerback Jaylon Johnson have been placed on the COVID-19/reserve list.

Facing an undermanned and below-average secondary, the Vikings should let Cousins take charge and use Dalvin Cook to salt the victory away. Then again, Zimmer loves running the ball, so they could try and crack a defense that’s allowed 4.3 yards per carry.
