Dalvin Tomlinson – DT

Dalvin Tomlinson is a big-name player the Vikings signed in the offseason, but he isn’t making big-time plays on a weekly basis. In his defense, he did block the Bears field goal, and that was great to see and was a heck of a play, but his presence wasn’t felt much on defense

Tomlinson didn’t record a single tackle against the Bears. His name was nowhere to be found on the box score, and when watching the game, one often wonders where he is.

The Bears didn’t have any issue moving the ball on the ground, and the biggest reason they were stopped was that they didn’t stick with it much. The Vikings linebackers did a good job of sniffing out the run as well, but Tomlinson again wasn’t much of an anchor or lane plugger.

Michael Pierce and James Lynch made some plays and had three tackles apiece, but the man the Vikings spent all that money on was skunked. Maybe he’s doing what they want from a pass-rushing standpoint.

The picture above shows that he can pressure the quarterback. However, for what the Vikings gave this guy for two years, they need to start seeing some consistent tallies on the stat sheet, and some better performances against the run.
