5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams – Week 16
By Chris Schad
Minnesota will lose another one-possession game
With everything on the line, the Vikings need to come out and have one of their best games of the season. But with the tension surrounding the team throughout the year, it’s hard to see the Vikings banding together and defeating the Rams.
Of 14 games this season, the Vikings have had all, but one of them come down to one possession. While a team could embrace this as their identity, the Vikings more often ask why they keep finding themselves in close games, which causes them to be uptight and nervous.
That mindset leads to mistakes and could surface against the Rams. Although they are coming off a short week and an ugly win against the Seattle Seahawks, they understand that winning is the way to get an easier path in the playoffs and potentially a division title. If they play loose, they have the offense to bury the Vikings early and force them to catch up.
This doesn’t seem like a scenario where the Vikings prevail, which pushes their season back on the brink.
Prediction: Rams win 31-24
