The Rams struggle to run the football

Los Angeles has one of the best pass offenses in the NFL. Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Odell Beckham Jr., and company are close to the top of every statistical passing category. Their numbers on the ground are not as excellent.

The Rams are 22nd in yards per carry at 4.1, tied for 29th in rushing touchdowns with 8, and only have 3 runs of 20 yards or more with none going for 40 or more. The Vikings will need to force L.A. to beat them on the ground.

The good news is that Minnesota can get pressure on opposing quarterbacks at a high rate. They still lead the league in sacks with 44 and only allow 63.3 of passes to ve completed (9th). They also know Stafford’s tendencies quite well from their time in the NFC North together, which should help the defense.

A healthy Minnesota Vikings defense will have their hands full with the Rams passing attack, but if they can contain them well enough to be able to keep the offense in the game, good things could happen on Sunday.
