6 biggest takeaways from the Vikings loss to the Rams in Week 16
By Adam Carlson
Minnesota is on the outside of the playoff picture
The Minnesota Vikings entered Week 16 in the seventh and final spot in the NFC playoff picture. With this loss to the Rams, the Eagles claimed that playoff spot for now and the Saints will be ahead of Minnesota if they win on Monday Night Football.
If the Vikings want any chance at the postseason, they will need to find a way to beat the Packers in Green Bay and follow that up with a win at home against the Chicago Bears to finish the season 9-8 and hope things fall their way to grab a spot.
Fans can debate as to whether or not this team deserves to have a spot in the postseason. And some fans will also be rooting for the Vikings to fail so some major changes can be made to the team’s staff this offseason. But either way, there will be two games left on the schedule
Week 18 could be Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings fighting for their playoff spot against the Bears. Or it might be a showdown between Sean Mannion and Nick Foles in a game that has no playoff implications whatsoever. That will be decided on Sunday Night Football.
