During their road trip to Green Bay last season, the Minnesota Vikings were able to pull off a shocking upset over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers are set to face off on Sunday night at Lambeau Field. The Packers lead the all-time series 63-56-2, but they have lost in their past two meetings against Minnesota, including earlier this season back in Week 11.
Minnesota lost by a final score of 30-23 last week at home to the Los Angeles Rams, ending their two-game winning streak. Not only are the Vikings playing on the road in the freezing cold against a very good team, but they will also be without quarterback Kirk Cousins after he was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
This already looked like a very difficult game for Minnesota to win, but the news regarding their quarterback makes it that much tougher. The Vikings’ chances of making the playoffs are low and it’s going to take a very huge miracle for them to make it there now.
This is very disappointing, especially given all the talent Minnesota added to their roster this past offseason. Their inability to close out games has been one of the biggest issues. Many fans are calling for Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer to be relieved of his duties and some are also calling for general manager Rick Spielman’s job as well.
Divisional games are usually very fun, but Sunday night could be very ugly for Minnesota.
