Already knocked out of the playoff race, pride is the only thing on the line for the Minnesota Vikings during Sunday’s season finale against the Chicago Bears.

For the sixth year in a row, the final home game of the season for the Minnesota Vikings will be against the Chicago Bears. Like 2020, however, this matchup won’t have any playoff spots on the line.

Minnesota was eliminated from appearing in the postseason this year after their loss to the Green Bay Packers last week. So on Sunday, the Vikings will just be attempting to finish their season on a high note.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears prediction Week 18

Sunday’s matchup between Minnesota and Chicago is unique in that it could feature the final time each team has their current head coach on the sideline.

The Vikings appear to be done with Mike Zimmer leading their team and it’s been known for quite some time that the Bears will be showing Matt Nagy the door once the 2021 season comes to an end.

So who really knows what could happen between these two NFC North rivals on Sunday. If Kirk Cousins is back on the field for Minnesota, one should expect the Vikings to be able to leave the field with a victory. But if Cousins is still inactive, Minnesota fans could be in for another ugly offensive performance with the team’s backup quarterback, Sean Mannion, starting under center.
