4 young quarterbacks the Vikings could trade for in 2022

If the Minnesota Vikings end up moving on from Kirk Cousins, who are a few young quarterbacks the team could trade for to replace him?

One year currently remains on the contract of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins. For 2022, Cousins is scheduled to have a cap hit of $45 million, and it seems highly unlikely that the Vikings are going to let that remain the same during the upcoming offseason.

Minnesota is not going to release the veteran quarterback since that move wouldn’t free up a dime of cap space. However, the Vikings can create $35 million in cap space if they are able to trade Cousins to another team.

With Minnesota not expected to have much in spending money for 2022, and with the team still having a bunch of holes to fix, dealing their top quarterback might be the choice to make.

If the Vikings actually do end up trading Cousins this year, it might be a good idea for them to replace him with a much younger quarterback. Someone who is still in the middle of their rookie contract who can still allow Minnesota to be successful on the offensive side of the ball.
