4 young quarterbacks the Vikings could trade for in 2022
By Adam Patrick
Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)
- Age:
- 23-years-old
- 2021 Stats:
- 15 games
- 61.3 completion percentage
- 3,144 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, 9 interceptions
- 87.2 passer rating
- 784 rushing yards (5.6 ypc), 10 touchdowns
In his second season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts has been solid. Hurts has played a large role in the Eagles winning six of their last eight games, which ultimately resulted in Philadephia qualifying for the 2021 playoffs.
Hurts’ passing numbers don’t jump off the screen, but his ability as a dual-threat quarterback makes life much more difficult for opposing defenses.
As a rookie in 2020, Hurts only started four games under center for the Eagles, so this is essentially his first season as a starting quarterback in the NFL.
Despite the improvements he has made during the 2021 campaign, it still doesn’t seem like Philadelphia is completely sold on moving forward with Hurts as their longtime signal-caller. Especially there were multiple reports circulating around a few months ago about the Eagles having an interest in trading for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.
If Philadelphia ends up listening to offers for Hurts during the upcoming offseason, the Vikings should be one of the teams calling to find out what it would take to acquire him.
