Louis Riddick

This might be the year that Louis Riddick leaves the analyst booth at ESPN and steps into a general manager role. His reputation remains right at the top of any potential general manager candidates in 2022 and the respected figure has experience both as a player and in the front office with both the Washington Football Team and Philadelphia Eagles.

Listening to Riddick talk, one cannot be impressed with how he perceives and analyses football in all shapes and forms. His attention to detail is first-class and this won’t go unnoticed by any team looking to bring him in for an interview this offseason.

The Minnesota Vikings is an enticing proposition for anyone. They have a veteran quarterback in Kirk Cousins and some dynamic weapons on both sides of the football that any new general manager can build around.

It was something of a surprise that Riddick was not appointed somewhere in 2021. One possible knock is he hasn’t worked in a front office since 2013, but he’s still right up to speed with all things NFL-related, thanks to his position at ESPN.

This would be something of a gamble for the Vikings. However, given the esteem in which Riddick is held across the league, it might not be a bad avenue to go down.
