The Minnesota Vikings have to hit big in the early rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft with whoever they end up choosing to be their new GM and head coach.

It’s has been a wild week for the Minnesota Vikings. On the infamous “Black Monday” the Wilf family wasted no time at all letting their fans know that the recent performances of the team were not acceptable, and changes were needed when they made the decision to let go of both general manager Rick Spielman and head coach Mike Zimmer.

The Wilf’s stated that they were going to be “patient and deliberate” in their search for both general manager and head coach, so it could be a while before a new leadership group is put in place.

The job in Minnesota is one of high demand within the league. The talented offensive personnel with guys like Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and Brian O’Neill, coupled with some great leaders on the defensive side like Eric Kendricks and Harrison Smith, makes the job incredibly intriguing from a football perspective alone.

However, it goes without saying that the team has underachieved the last two seasons and has several holes to be filled, and several question marks that need to be answered.

The NFL Draft is coming up in a few months, and with pre-draft events like the Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl taking place in a couple of weeks, the teams that didn’t make the postseason are diving headfirst into their preparations for the offseason.

With uncertainty surrounding the Vikings as a whole until the new leadership group is named, this mock draft was formatted and made with the mindset of how a brand new GM and head coach would come in and fix the roster as it stands today.

For this mock draft, I used the RiseNDraft Mock Draft Simulator.
