The Minnesota Vikings have some serious flaws that the next GM has to fix.

Now that Rick Spielman is no longer the GM of the Minnesota Vikings, they can shift their focus to building for the future – and probably not racking up seventh-round draft picks. There are some things to like about the Vikings, as with every other team in the NFL, but there are some serious flaws as well.

For as exciting and young as the offense is, the same cannot be said about the other side of the ball. Mike Zimmer’s vaunted defense took a step back in each of the past two years and now the head coach is looking for a job elsewhere.

There is a reason why the Vikings have struggled over the past few years and it is up to the next GM to sort that out and take care of the problem. Whether that may be Kirk Cousins, the coaching staff, or the personnel surrounding the depth of the roster, something has to change with this team moving forward.

As the offseason looms, the Vikings need to hire the right General Manager to get them back on track and out of the salary cap hell that they are currently facing. That is going to make the job a little less appealing given the lack of direction this team has displayed lately.
