Thomas Brown
Current Role:
- Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach/running backs coach
Thomas Brown is someone who has been compared to Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, and after learning a little more about him, it’s not difficult to understand why he’s been given this comparison.
The 35-year-old Brown has only been a coach in the NFL since 2020, but Rams head coach Sean McVay raves about him. These feelings were made pretty clear when McVay made Brown Los Angeles’ assistant head coach after just one season with the team.
Brown, a former running back for the University of Georgia, has already received an interview request from the Miami Dolphins in their search for a new head coach, and based on some past comments from McVay, it probably won’t be very long until Brown ends up getting a chance to be a head coach in the NFL.
"“He’s special. He’s just got a presence. There are certain people that kind of have that ‘it’ factor and he’s certainly one of those guys. He embodies all of the things that you’re looking for in a coach, and then you just watch his energy and his ability to be able to see things in live action. I couldn’t be any more impressed with him.”"
The Vikings have been looking for someone like Tomlin to lead their franchise ever since he left his role as Minnesota’s defensive coordinator in 2007 to become the head coach of the Steelers. If the Vikings value McVay’s opinion, Brown could potentially be the guy to lead the franchise to a Super Bowl win, just like Tomlin did for Pittsburgh.
