Wide Receiver

Wide receiver isn’t a primary need for the Vikings but they could go that route at pick No. 12 for a couple of reasons. First of all, it may just be the best value on the board.

There’s a strong chance that a receiver like Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Drake London, or Jameson Williams could be available. If Minnesota’s new general manager is truly going with the best value on the board then that may be at the wide receiver position.

The second factor which could turn this into a much bigger need is if Adam Thielen is cut or traded in the offseason. Vikings fans would hate to see this happen, as he’s a fan favorite who has fought hard and overcome the odds to get where he is.

Football is a business though and if Minnesota feels they are better off saving money than having him on the roster at his age, then that’s the route they could go.

Even if Thielen goes, the Vikings would be fine rolling with Justin Jefferson, K.J. Osborn, Ihmir Smith-Marsette, and Bisi Johnson.

They’d probably add another pass catcher at some point in the draft, but if one of these guys was staring them in the face in round one, and no other need areas presented great value, Minnesota may find the value too hard to pass up.
