Info reveals chances of Brian Daboll as the next Vikings head coach

The likelihood of Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll becoming the next head coach of the Minnesota Vikings doesn’t seem very high.

When the Minnesota Vikings officially decided to fire head coach Mike Zimmer after the 2021 regular season, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is someone that was immediately thrown into the discussion about possible candidates to replace Zimmer.

Daboll has played a large role in the development of Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Buffalo’s offense ranked at the very top of the NFL this season in terms of points scored.

Despite Buffalo’s success on the offensive side of the ball with Daboll leading the charge, he isn’t someone the Vikings have requested to interview for their head-coaching vacancy yet, and some recent info seems to indicate that he probably won’t be meeting with Minnesota at all about Zimmer’s old job.

While some would love to see Daboll get a shot at becoming the next head coach of the Vikings, the likeliness of that actually happening doesn’t seem very high.

The current Bills offensive coordinator is apparently a leading candidate for the Miami Dolphins opening at head coach. According to a recent report from FanSided’s Matt Lombardo, “there is a strong feeling inside the league that Daboll is earmarked for the Miami Dolphins’ opening, because of the chance to work with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.”

Since Daboll is familiar with the AFC East and the fact that he’s played a significant role in helping a young quarterback develop into one of the NFL’s best signal-callers, Miami is a team that actually makes a ton of sense for the Buffalo offensive coordinator.

Obviously, things can change, and whoever Minnesota ends up selecting as their new general manager might actually want to bring in Daboll to interview for the team’s head coach opening if he’s still available.

Currently, however, Daboll as the next head coach of the Vikings doesn’t seem like something that is very realistic.
