Kris Boyd – cornerback
Kris Boyd has played three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and those years have seen him play inconsistent football at best. There are times he will make a great play and flash his skills but there are also occasions where he tends to get lost in the coverage.
During those three seasons, Boyd played in 41 games, starting six contests. He has yet to register an interception or sack in his NFL career but has defended three passes and forced a fumble to go with his 82 combined tackles.
Minnesota’s bleak cornerback situation plays to his benefit. He could see the field quite a bit if the team is unable to re-sign Patrick Peterson and they don’t use a top pick on a cornerback during the 2022 NFL Draft.
At only 25 years old, Kris Boyd can continue to be a good contributor on special teams, but that alone won’t secure him a spot on the team’s roster past the 2022 season. He will need to prove he can be a good defender if he truly wants to stay with the Vikings.
