Vikings Rumors: Minnesota has had ‘communication’ with Jim Harbaugh
By Adam Patrick
Some recent comments from John U. Bacon were added to the latest Minnesota Vikings rumors surrounding the possibility of Jim Harbaugh heading to the Twin Cities.
The other day, we published something about one of the most intriguing Minnesota Vikings rumors from the last few weeks that placed the franchise in contention to hire Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh as their head coach.
John U. Bacon, a legendary writer in the Michigan media market and someone with a direct connection to Harbaugh, included the Vikings in a recent tweet as a team that shouldn’t be counted out as a possible landing spot for Harbaugh this year.
Well, on Thursday, Bacon went on “The Wolverine Digest Pod” and was asked if this possibility of Harbaugh becoming Minnesota’s next head coach is an actual thing with a legitimate chance (his answer begins around the 11:30 mark in the show).
"“I don’t know how big of a thing it is. There has been some communication [with the Vikings]. I can say that. For awhile there was with Denver also, and that, obviously, didn’t go very far. So yeah, you never know.”"
Vikings Rumors: Connection between Jim Harbaugh and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah should not be ignored
During Harbaugh‘s final two seasons as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, there was a guy working in the team’s research and development department by the name of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
Of course, Adofo-Mensah was hired as the Vikings’ new general manager earlier this week. So could one of the first big moves Adofo-Mensah makes in Minnesota be to convince Harbaugh to leave Michigan and become the next head coach of the Vikings?
To quote Bacon, “you never know.”
At this point, the actual chances of Harbaugh becoming Minnesota’s next head coach still seem pretty low. But these latest comments from Bacon and the hiring of Adofo-Mensah are only going to keep the possibility alive.
