5 former Vikings who could win a Super Bowl ring this year
By Adam Carlson
Trae Waynes, cornerback (Bengals)
It’s interesting to see another first-round draft pick on this list, but this time it’s an individual who was selected by the Minnesota Vikings. Trae Waynes was selected number 11 overall in 2015 and spent five seasons with the team.
Before the 2020 season, Waynes signed a three-year deal with the Bengals but couldn’t get on the field for his first year in Cincinnati because of a pectoral injury that forced him to miss the entire season.
He missed the first three games of the 2021 season with a hamstring injury only to return in Week 4 of the 2021 season and aggravate the injury in Week 5 and return to injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
Trae Waynes won’t be on the field against the Rams for the Super Bowl, but there is a chance he could get a ring for his contributions while getting to the playoffs. Hopefully, he can get healthy and be a bigger contributor in the future.
