4 ways the Minnesota Vikings can avoid disaster this offseason

Vikings must be more expansive on offense
According to multiple media reports, the Minnesota Vikings are moving forward with Kevin O’Connell as their new head coach after things did not go as many expected during Jim Harbaugh’s interview. This concludes a thorough search from the organization and although the new appointment wasn’t tasked with calling offensive plays with the Los Angeles Rams, being part of a Super Bowl-bound franchise clearly played a big part in the team’s decision.
The Sean McVay coaching tree is growing by the year. This also provides the Vikings with an opportunity to become more expansive on offense and make full use of the exceptional skill position players at their disposal.
Minnesota’s offense under Gary and Klint Kubiak became somewhat predictable. A more old-school approach when other schemes across the league are coming up with innovative ways to put significant points on the board with great effect.
O’Connell is a significant part of the strategical aspect of the Rams game plan. If he can take this and build something similar in Minnesota, then the likes of Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson are going to benefit enormously.
This was a gamble by the Minnesota Vikings considering the esteem in which Harbaugh is held. Only time will tell as to whether or not it was the right call to make.
