Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins enter the offseason with the most cap space in the NFL with roughly $64 million in their pocket. Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed are a fun duo in the backfield, but they simply do not get the job done. Miami has a young quarterback, a strong defense, and a decent pool of draft picks to go with their spending money this offseason.

Dalvin Cook is not going to be traded for a first-round draft pick, but the Dolphins could make an enticing offer with their 50th overall pick and either a young player or another mid-to-late round draft pick.

Cornerback Noah Igbinoghene and guard Solomon Kindley will be two young guys to keep an eye on via trade if the Vikings prefer to get a player in return. However, the 50th overall pick and another draft pick would give the Vikings ammo to move up in the draft if they needed to.

There are a handful of talented running backs in the 2022 NFL Draft, most notably Breece Hall, James Cook (Dalvin’s brother), and Kenneth Walker.

Minnesota can replace Cook in the draft or in free agency at a much cheaper cost than what he is set to earn in 2022 and beyond. While I understand that Cook is a fantastic player, the results of his big payday have not helped the team win.

The Dolphins need a proven runner that can carry the offense. Dalvin, a Miami native, would be able to return home, be a dynamic piece on a playoff contender, and help Tua as he continues to develop.

This is a deal that makes a ton of sense for both sides.
