Which free-agent wide receivers should the Minnesota Vikings consider signing in 2022?

The NFL Draft can only help the Minnesota Vikings build the roster so much. Thus, free agency is arguably the most important stage of the offseason for all 32 clubs. Heading into the 2022 season, the Vikings need to add a ton of depth across the roster to improve their roster.

Justin Jefferson has emerged as one of the absolute best wide receivers in the NFL and is one of the biggest stars in the league. Adam Thielen, on the other hand, is trending downward despite still putting up solid numbers over the past two seasons. With age and injuries wearing him down, the Vikings would be smart to at least consider finding someone to help out in the passing game.

K.J. Osborn was an incredible story for the Vikings in 2021 as he became the clear-cut third receiver on the depth chart and a reliable target for Kirk Cousins. The question around Osborn is whether or not he can sustain that sort of impact again next season. He also needs to prove a lot more to be the number two in case Thielen cannot contribute.

Ihmir Smith-Marsette made some noise at the end of his rookie season and it would be excellent to see him in an expanded role next season. It would also be smart for the Vikings to target wide receivers in the upcoming draft.
