The Minnesota Vikings have some obvious needs as free agency and the draft approach. They also have some that aren’t so obvious.
The Minnesota Vikings have their general manager in place and a new head coach will be in town after the Super Bowl. It is time to start evaluating the roster and figuring out who is going to stay and who is going to go. During that process, some major areas of need emerge and the Vikings and their fans already know where the big holes lie.
On offense, the Vikings need to improve the middle of their offensive line. They have to get stronger at center and find a guy who can anchor and hold his own at the point of attack. They also don’t know who the right guard will be, maybe that will be Wyatt Davis but it just as easily could be a rookie or a free agent who is brought in.
Most of the Vikings’ major issues fall on the defensive side of the ball. It appears the team could be switching to a 3-4 front and that’ll create a ton of holes on this roster. The most glaring need is in the secondary. The Vikings signed a plethora of defensive backs to one-year contracts and will likely see names like Mackensie Alexander, Xavier Woods, and Patrick Peterson go elsewhere.
While those are the obvious needs there are a few that aren’t so glaring. Here are three sneaky needs for the 2022 Minnesota Vikings.
