Is the offensive line actually still an issue for the Minnesota Vikings?

What do the Vikings need to do in 2022?

Minnesota is going into 2022 with three clear starters on the offensive line, in my opinion. Darrisaw and O’Neill are set to hold down the tackle spots and they have the potential to be one of the best bookend tandems in the NFL down the line. Ezra Cleveland should also have a stronghold on the left guard job as he enters the offseason with no questions about his role moving forward.

Prior to last year’s draft, Cleveland was still a candidate to be the left tackle if the Vikings did not address that position in the draft. Now, he knows where he stands as he heads into the offseason.

Unless the Vikings go all-in on a center, Bradbury should return for the final season of his rookie deal. If the Vikings were in dire need of multiple starting linemen and they felt another center in the first round was necessary, then taking Tyler Linderbaum would make sense.

Of course, they could still go after the Iowa center with their 12th overall pick if they wanted to create an elite offensive line, which nobody should be opposed to – but they simply should not force the issue.

So long as the other three stay above average at their respective positions, Garrett Bradbury will be fine as the starting center. Oli Udoh should not return as the starting right guard but he would be a good body to have in training camp to form a battle.

Wyatt Davis has a chance to prove himself as the starting guard after being one of the top guards in the nation during his time at Ohio State. If he becomes the player that many fans thought he would be pre-draft, the Vikings will be solid up front.

The goal for the 2022 offseason should be simple: bring in competition at center and right guard but bet on Garrett Bradbury to play well in a contract year.
