If Patrick Peterson does not end up returning to the Minnesota Vikings for the 2022 season, who are some free-agent cornerbacks the team could add this year to replace him?

Last offseason, Patrick Peterson was easily the most notable signing the Minnesota Vikings made during free agency. After 10 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, the Vikings were able to land Peterson with a one-year deal worth $8 million.

That deal will expire when the new league year begins in March and the All-Pro cornerback will become a free agent for the second offseason in a row.

Peterson has already said that he would like to return to Minnesota for the 2022 season. However, it will obviously depend on how much he’s looking to make next year, and how much the Vikings are able to offer him.

Peterson will also turn 32-years-old in July and this year’s NFL Draft pool is believed to have a pretty deep group of cornerbacks. So Minnesota might prefer to spend their money elsewhere this offseason than on a veteran corner who might only have one or two more solid years of football left in him.

If the Vikings do end up letting Peterson walk out the door this offseason, who are some of the other free-agent cornerbacks that the team could bring in as his replacement?
