Mo Alie-Cox

2021 Team: Indianapolis Colts

Mo Alie-Cox is a mountain of a man. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 267 pounds, you would expect Alie-Cox to be lining up on the defensive line.

Potentially, the most incredible parts about Alie-Cox are that he ran a 4.75-second 40-time and he has a 35.5-inch vertical leap. To say the least, he is an athletic specimen.

Alie-Cox played basketball in college for Virginia Commonwealth, so his athletic ability has been on full display for years. His numbers don’t jump off the page at you, as he only has 70 career receptions for 936 yards and eight touchdowns in four NFL seasons. But the underlying stat is that he has only been targeted 108 times in his career.

Alie-Cox has done well with the chances he has received, but it is hard to produce when you aren’t getting the ball thrown your way.

For a player who is still learning the game of football, Alie-Cox has shown flashes that he can potentially be something special in the NFL.

With Jack Doyle potentially retiring for the Colts, that could open the door for Alie-Cox to get more time in Indianapolis if he did re-sign with them. But the team is so run-heavy, that there still may be little there for him.

With uncertainty around Irv Smith Jr., there could be an opportunity for Alie-Cox to step up in the Twin Cities and have a career year in 2022 just as Tyler Conklin did in 2021.
