Evan Engram

2021 Team: New York Giants

Evan Engram came into the league on fire, posting a 64/722/6 stat line as a rookie. Ever since that impressive rookie performance, he has yet to improve upon that hot start. He did make the Pro Bowl in 2020, but that can be taken with a grain of salt depending on how you view the event.

The 27-year-old now finds himself as a free agent, and with changes going on in New York, he could find himself with a new home in 2022.

Compared to the previous tight ends mentioned on this list, Engram is built much differently. Standing at only 6-foot-3, he’s a little shorter than most tight ends, but he did run a 4.42 second 40-time, so the athletic ability is prominently there.

The smaller size could be an issue as it could result in poor matchups when blocking against defensive linemen, but running a 4.4-second time in the 40 as a tight end is a nightmare to cover for opposing defenses.

If the Vikings are looking to change their offense, the days of the block first, catch second tight end could be gone from Minnesota, and Engram could play into this change.

Engram is another tight end that has issues with injuries, and with a smaller build than most tight ends, there may be a mixed market for the former Ole Miss product.

He has proven that he has talent, the question is if he can finally put it all together and stay healthy while doing so. If the Vikings are looking for a new look on offense, they may go out and give Engram a chance.
