Cordarrelle Patterson – Atlanta Falcons

This list will mostly be inexpensive running backs who will play almost entirely out of the backfield. However, an exception has to be made for Cordarrelle Patterson, who has a spot in the heart of many Minnesota Vikings fans and can do a lot more than play running back.

In a creative Kevin O’Connell offense, Patterson would be very effective when running the ball like he did in Atlanta or be able to shift out and assume the role of a speedy wide receiver to cause mismatches for the defense.

Patterson has stated that he would love to return to the Falcons, and they are in a more favorable financial situation than Minnesota, but there has to be some appeal in returning to a Vikings team that drafted him in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Patterson has played running back, wide receiver, kick return specialist, and has even played some snaps on defense. He will likely cost more than the Vikings want to spend, but it would be a lot of fun to see him back in a purple and gold jersey.
