David Johnson – Houston Texans

If you would have told Minnesota Vikings fans back in the late 2010s that the team could have David Johnson on their roster in the future, many of them would have been super excited to know the dynamic rusher would join their favorite squad.

Fast forward to 2022 and Johnson isn’t the player he once was. At one time, he was arguably the best running back in football and a threat as a rusher and a receiver. Sadly, injuries have slowed him down and brought his value back down to earth.

Johnson slid down the depth chart during his tenure with both the Cardinals and the Texans and now looks as though he could be a bargain signing in free agency and might compete for a job as the RB3.

Interestingly enough, Johnson averaged four yards per carry during his first five seasons in Arizona but slightly improved that number to 4.3 during his two seasons in Houston. He may not be washed up, but a smaller role could help extend the career of the 30-year-old runner.
