Wayne Gallman – Minnesota Vikings

In a move that would be one of the least exciting transactions of the offseason, bringing back Wayne Gallman for another season makes sense, but the new general manager might not be as optimistic about his future with the Vikings as Rick Spielman was.

Gallman was a fourth-round pick of the Giants in 2017 and spent some time with the 49ers and Falcons before coming to Minnesota in 2021. He played in two games for the Vikings but didn’t register a single carry.

Averaging 4.2 yards per carry over his five-year career, Gallman’s stats look nice enough to think he can be good enough to fill in when needed. Most of his production came in 202 when filling in for an injured Saquon Barkley where he had 682 yards and six touchdowns on the ground and 21 catches for 114 yards.

Signing Gallman back would be a safe move and ensure that no changes need to be made heading into the 2022 NFL Draft while saving their salary cap for more essential transactions. It would be a smart move, just not one that moves the needle.
