Which pending free agents could fill immediate needs for the Minnesota Vikings during the 2022 season?
Things might not look too promising for the Minnesota Vikings ahead of free agency thanks to their salary-cap predicament, but it would be a shock if the team’s new shot-callers didn’t make some big-time moves to put the organization in a good position to make the right acquisitions before the frenzy officially begins.
There appears to be a real buzz in Minnesota following head coach Kevin O’Connell’s introductory press conference. However, this will count for nothing if the same problems that blighted the Vikings in 2021 rear their ugly heads once again next season.
It is going to be an eventful few months ahead for those associated with the franchise. The Vikings still have more than enough talent to enter the playoff picture in 2022 and it’s also worth remembering how many games they lost in dramatic fashion that could have left their fortunes looking far different had things gone in the team’s favor.
O’Connell comes with a good pedigree and was a key contributor during the Los Angeles Rams’ eventual Super Bowl triumph. If he can bring this magic to Minnesota following his deserved promotion, then the Vikings could be a team to watch when competitive action resumes once again.
