Will the Minnesota Vikings make decisions this offseason based on whether All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers stays with the Green Bay Packers or not?

Earlier this week, fans of the Minnesota Vikings were hoping to hear Aaron Rodgers announce his departure from the Green Bay Packers during an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show”.

Unfortunately, Rodgers revealed that he still hasn’t made a decision about his future with the Packers yet. So any early Christmas gifts for Vikings fans will have to wait just a little longer.

But what if Rodgers ends up deciding to part with Green Bay and either retire from the NFL or attempt to win a championship with another team in the league? That would seem like a great opportunity for Minnesota to take control of the NFC North in 2022, right?

Minnesota Vikings should stick to a plan for 2022 no matter what Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers decides to do

The thought of Rodgers not being in the NFC North for the first time since 2004 might cause some to think the Vikings should load up their roster for a run at the divisional title next season.

However, Minnesota’s mindset at this point should be focused on what they can accomplish in the long term and not so much on what might happen during the 2022 campaign.

Winning the NFC North would be an accomplishment, but the Vikings currently don’t really have the tools to be much of a threat in the NFC next season even if they win their division.

Minnesota’s defense has tons of holes, and right now, they don’t have any money to fix that side of the ball. The roster moves that the Vikings are going to make this year will probably have more to do with their plans for 2023 rather than what they want to accomplish next season.
