Redrafting the Minnesota Vikings 2021 rookie class
By Nik Edlund
First- Round Pick
Original Pick: Christian Darrisaw – OT (Virginia Tech)
Redraft Pick: Darrisaw
The Vikings traded down to the 23rd overall pick and were able to land this big dude out of Virginia Tech. The start of Christian Darrisaw‘s NFL career was a bit delayed, as he was recovering from an injury coming into camp and then had to have surgery in the summer. He finally got on the field in Week 4 and got his first start two games later.
Darrisaw ended up starting 10 games for the Vikings and played quite well. He held his own against some top edge rushers and was also able to move some bodies in the running game.
His solid play was all the more impressive when factoring in the amount of time he missed. This guy basically missed all the OTAs, mini-camps, and training camp and still came in and played at a high level.
Darrisaw did have some ups and downs throughout the last handful of games but there is no one the Vikings should’ve drafted instead, as the team now has its bookend tackles for the foreseeable future.
