When the new league year begins on March 15, the Minnesota Vikings could look to bring back some familiar faces in free agency.

The Minnesota Vikings are entering the 2022 free agency period without a ton of money to spend. They actually are well over the cap right now and they need to do some major cutting, and restructuring to get where they need to be.

There will be some fan favorites who will be victims of this, but the NFL is a business, and even the most endearing players aren’t safe.

While the Vikings are definitely going to trim their roster, they are also going to be adding to it. They are switching to a 3-4 front for the most part, but according to new defensive coordinator Ed Donatell, they will run plenty of 4-3 looks as well.

They will be looking for players who can fit into these fronts and also upgrade some other positions on the roster that currently lack depth.

It’s very possible that some of these players they bring in may in fact be former Vikings. There are plenty of former members of the purple and gold who will be available to be had, and some might not be all that expensive.

Minnesota brought in a handful of former players a season ago with names like Mackensie Alexander and Sheldon Richardson being a few. So who are a few former Vikings that could return for their second stints with the team this offseason?
