2021 Team: Buffalo Bills

Vikings fans know Mitchell Trubisky well from his tenure with the Chicago Bears. Trubisky looked like he had a chance to be Chicago’s guy at one point, with two playoff appearances as a starter for the Bears and an NFC North title in 2018.

Trubisky spent the last season backing up Josh Allen in Buffalo and seemed to have benefited from a change of scenery. Trubisky has been the talk of the quarterback carousel as teams have gathered around during combine week. Trubisky showed signs of growth as a passer with the Bills, posting a 103.6 passer rating with one touchdown and no interceptions this past offseason.

Trubisky is coming off of a reverse redshirt season, meaning that he began his career as a starter, struggled and he was able to benefit from sitting and learning in a very quarterback-friendly Brian Daboll offense.

The same offense that saw Josh Allen take the biggest leap in NFL history between 2019 and 2020. At 27-years-old, Trubisky has plenty of good years ahead of him and would make for an excellent option for the Vikings to target in free agency regardless of their decision on what to do with Kirk Cousins.
