2021 Team: New Orleans Saints

A cheap veteran on the market, Trevor Siemian poses little to no risk for the Vikings to sign at his current value at $990,000. Siemian has bounced around in the NFL, starting a few seasons for the Denver Broncos before having brief stints with both the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints.

Siemian did enjoy a brief stint with the Vikings in 2018 that lasted almost as long as a one-night stand. He did not attempt a single regular-season pass as Cousins’ backup, but the familiarity between the two may be enough for the Vikings to bring Siemian back to reclaim the same role.

At this stage in his career, Siemian is comfortable as a backup and would be able to prevent complete disaster (Josh Freeman, Joe Webb, Sean Mannion), should anything happen to Cousins or whoever the Vikings starter may be in 2022. Siemian did manage to throw 11 touchdowns in six appearances this year for the Saints, so he can get the ball into the end zone if need be.
