5 second-year Vikings poised for a big sophomore season in 2022

Jaylen Twyman – DL
Without even playing a single snap in the NFL Jaylen Twyman became a fan favorite in Minnesota. His reaction to being drafted by the Vikings in the sixth round showed how excited and emotional he was to have made it to the NFL. Seeing his reaction, and watching his impressive college highlight tape, it was hard not to get excited about Twyman in Minnesota. And then June 21 came.
Jaylen Twyman was shot four times on June 21 in his hometown of Washington D.C. Getting shot four times seems like it should certainly be a career-ender, but Twyman managed to still report to training camp last year less than two months after he was shot.
His potential fit in the Vikings’ new 3-4 defense could cause some issues for Tywman, even if his innate ability to get to the passer is something that Minnesota is in need of.
He currently lacks the size that may be needed to be the nose tackle in the new scheme. But his impressive upper body strength and his relentless motor could find him a place as a defensive end for the Vikings, a position that could use some help.
For all we know, maybe Twyman won’t amount to anything, but his incredible story and his impressive game tape leave nothing but excitement for him in 2022. Minnesota will be rooting for Twyman’s success, and he just might have what it takes to succeed.
