Camryn Bynum – S

Camryn Bynum may have the quickest path to success in 2022 compared to the other players mentioned in this article. The Cal product far outnumbered his counterparts listed in snaps this season, actually starting three games in 2021.

The former cornerback turned safety did nothing but boost his stock with the playing time he got, presenting himself as a solid piece for the Vikings’ future.

When Bynum did get playing time, he mainly lined up as the strong safety, filling in for Harrison Smith. The team is now in need of a free safety as Xavier Woods is a free agent and it is unknown if he will return to Minnesota. Bynum has shown that he is a versatile player in the secondary, so a potential move to free safety could be in his future.

The Vikings have Smith under contract till 2025, so unless the team plans on trading or cutting him in the near future, Bynum may need to get his shot at a different position. A duo of Smith and Bynum could be a dangerous combo in Minnesota, and after what Vikings fans saw from Bynum in 2021, they can only hope that’s what they’ll be getting.

His ceiling may not be as high as some of the players mentioned in this article, but his floor is much more stable than others as well.
