With a new regime leading the way, Minnesota Vikings fans should prepare themselves for the team to undergo significant changes during the next few months.

This offseason, the Minnesota Vikings will be making roster decisions without the help of Rick Spielman for the first time since 2006 when he was brought on to be the team’s vice president of player personnel.

For more than a decade, Spielman has had his fingerprints on decisions made by the Vikings that have also included the team’s front office and coaching staff in addition to their roster moves.

But now, Minnesota is moving on from the Spielman era. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is the Vikings’ new general manager and Kevin O’Connell is the team’s new head coach. The Vikings have preached about changing the culture multiple times during the last few weeks, and with that in mind, nothing that happens in the near future should come as a surprise.

Minnesota Vikings move on from longtime athletic trainer Eric Sugarman

If there was ever a sign that Minnesota is moving their organization in a new direction this year, just look at their recent decision to part ways with head athletic trainer Eric Sugarman.

Sugarman had been with the Vikings for the last 16 years, but the team’s new leadership felt that it was best for his working relationship with the franchise to come to an end.

This news and how it is a sign that no changes Minnesota makes to their organization during the next few months should come as a surprise was discussed on the latest episode of The Viking Age Podcast.
