Austin Corbett, guard/center

The Minnesota Vikings don’t have a lot of needs on offense. Their only real immediate needs are on the offensive line, where the center and right guard positions could use a bit of an upgrade or at least a competition to improve.

Adding a player like Austin Corbett to the mix might not immediately solve their problems, but it does provide an opportunity to a player attempting to prove themselves and win a job at one of the two major positions of need.

Corbett started all 17 games for the Rams last season, giving him an instant connection to new head coach Kevin O’Connell. In fact, he also started all 16 games the previous year. Combined, he has 41 starts over his 55 total games between his time with Cleveland and Los Angeles, playing a total of 2,213 offensive snaps.

The path is clear for the Vikings to sign Corbett and work to bring more stability to the offensive line without using a draft pick to do so. The 6’4 and 306-pound lineman is one of the most logical inexpensive free agents for Minnesota this offseason.
